The author asked me to review this book, and thank you Lisa! This was nicely done!
This is not my usual fare, but I wanted to give it a go, since it sounded interesting. But I kept trying to pigionhole this story.( MY BAD ) Was this a take off on that famous ghost story, was it inspired by that story of the crazy knife wielding woman? Every time I thought I had this pegged it " bitch slapped" me and said " Oh no you didn't!"
Finally when I let it take me where it wanted to take me I realized it was a story about love, devastatingly sad, lost love.
What that does to you, how it can distort your reality, make you forget what was real, and make you feel like you are crazy. We've all been there once in our lives, or we wil be. When it happens, you know it. Time stops. Your heart sometimes feels like it stops. You would do anything to get it back. Anything to keep it. You would even pretend that it never ended. Its also a story about losing control. When you think you have control. That's when you've lost it. It's an illusion, life's grandest illusion.
I had a sneaky feeling that there would be a nice sad twist at the end, and there was. Lol.

This is a very enjoyable book with inteesting and likeable charactes. Although based around a 'haunted house' the book is eally an examination of the way our history haunts us. However far or hard you run you can't escape from youself, and ultimately, you have to face your demons.

Highly recommended.
